what are the available rental times and hours?

monday through sunday - starting at 6pm. corporate and social luncheon/meeting spaces are available during museum operating hours.

where can my guests park?

the museum offers several parking options, including the diversey harbor lot. your guests may park at the lincoln park zoo either on their own, or you may pre-pay for parking spaces. contact the zoo to purchase parking passes in advance. you may also choose to hire a valet service, trolley or bus.

may i bring in my own caterer?

no need, you get to work with calihan catering. they’re an award winning caterer based in chicago for over 30 years that produces galas as large as the james beard foundation awards to as small as a private, intimate dinners in client’s homes. calihan catering will design a custom menu based on your event needs, vision, and tastes. their wedding packages start at about $170.00 per person and include the menu, a full premium bar with wine service during dinner, staffing, equipment, and linen.

am i permitted to bring my own vendors?

please feel free to select your baker, florist, entertainment, and decor. we do ask that you advise us of your selected vendors so we may be sure they carry appropriate insurance.

does the museum have liability insurance?

the museum has liability insurance and clients do not need to purchase an additional policy. vendors must provide certificates of insurance that meet our specifications. we reserve the right to change our requirements for any event. certain events will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if additional insurance is necessary.

do you have a suite for the wedding party?


how many weddings does the museum host a year?

we host approximately 45-50 weddings each year.

will someone from the museum be on-site the day of my event?

a private events staff member will be on-site for any private event held at the museum. they will make sure the museum is ready for your event and will be available to assist with any museum logistics or needs.

do you host ceremonies onsite?

of course! there are plenty of options as to how to lay it out depending on your guest count. we have had intimate ceremonies of 25 and can comfortably accommodate up to 200 people. and, we do not charge a fee for it.
